Pokemon Champion!

Pokemon League Champion!

So I'm finally a Pokemon Master on Pearl! My first run through I made it through the Elite Four, then Cynthia mopped the floor with me. I was a bit luckier my second time through. While I think I'll be done with Pokemon for a while after this, I have one more goal before setting the game down, and that is to get the National Pokedex so I can gain entrance to the Pal Park and transfer Pokemon from my GBA games to the DS. In order to do that, I need to fill the current Pokedex. And out of 150 entries, I have 149. I just need the elusive female Burmey to show itself so I can evolve it into Wormadam and be done with it. So I'm slathering trees with honey and playing the waiting game.

nintendo power coverThat's one game down on my list of games I wish to get through! Not sure which one I should tackle next. Yakuza? Final Fantasy XII? The bonus "Answer" section of Persona 3 FES? I have no idea! Any suggestions (the full list is in a previous post)

Also, Nintendo Power's 20th anniversary issue arrived the other day! A full two page Nester comic? A three page feature on the new 8-bit Mega Man 9 heading to Wii Ware? Thank you Nintendo! There's some great nostalgic stuff in this issue, and besides wishing there was more of it my only complaint would have to be with the cover, which features Mad World. There's a great "20th anniversary issue" banner at the top with 8-bit Mario and some pipes, but I really feel that this warranted it's own special cover as other milestones have in the past, like the 100th issue (which is also the last place where Nester was featured!)

So many games, so so little time. What to play next??

Snake? Snake? Snaaaaaaake!

So no, I haven't really been playing much of the Metal Gear Solid collection that I bought a short while ago. I did, however, make a little papercraft of Snake in a box!

papercraft Solid Snake

I took him to work so he could slink around with the other video games at the store. I figure Snake isn't much of a mingler. More of a slinker. I received my eighth gym badge today in Pokemon Pearl and am on my way to the Pokemon League to take on the Elite Four...though there may be a bit of leveling up before that fateful battle can take place. And even while I'm nearing the end of one of the games I'm trying to get through, tomorrow will see the release of Final Fantasy Tactics A2 for the DS and another one joins the list.

Otakon is just a short month and a half away now, and I'm starting to get psyched up for it again! I've already starting compiling a list of import games to keep an eye out for. With my shiny new PSP, I now have yet another system that thankfully is completely region free, which is pretty awesome.

Spore Creature Creator

So I've been waiting and waiting to play around with the Spore Creature Creator. I finally downloaded it last night, and it crashes on me! It'll come up with the EA splash screen, then just dump me back to the desktop. Man what a bummer, I was looking forward to making all sorts of hilarious and terrifying abominations. Anyone else having trouble running it, or am I a unique case?

Update! Thanks to a user over at 1up.com, I discovered that if you delete the EA Download Manager that installs with the Creature Creator, the game runs just fine! So here's my first attempt, Flaminguk.

Too many games!!

Oh man. So many great games out, and I'm am falling way behind. For anyone interested, here's my increasingly large pile of games that I'm trying to get through:

Pokemon Pearl - I just picked this one up again, after getting Darkrai from a recent Toys R Us promotion, and have been having a blast once again. I'm at 7 badges, so I'm getting near the end, and I'm trying to plow ahead to defeating the Elite Four.

The World Ends With You - I've been loving this game so far. Crazy action, lot of fun.

Persona 3 FES - Playing through the new chapter that takes place after the end of the game. It's great to go back to one of my favorite games, but now it's all dungeon crawling, with none of the daily Japanese school-going life, which is making it a bit more tedious with nothing to break it up.

Metal Gear Solid 1-3 - Of course, the thing to do when I have too many games...is to buy a box set of more games! Just started the first one yesterday, so I'll be on these for a while.

Final Fantasy VII Crisis Core - Really liking this game, feels great to have a good FFVII spinoff finally!

Disgea - Barely scratched the surface here so far, but I want to get into this one.

Final Fantasy XII - I'm like 25 hours into this. I just bought the strategy guide, so hopefully that will get me back into the game once again.

Yakuza - Really fun game, I'd like to have this beat by the time the sequel comes out, which looks to be this September.

No More Heroes - I'm only on like the third boss, I don't know why I put this one down so fast when I liked it!

Okay, so that's a quick rundown on the games I want to get through right now. That's a lot of games when I don't feel like I ever have the time to play games!
